Homecoming
Week in Louisville
Join in the fun, and celebrate Homecoming Spirit in Louisville Starts Tonight with PowderPuff Football at 6:30pm! 6:30 to 7:30 Wed night there will be a “PowderPuff” football game. The event is sponsored by the high school student council and they are asking for a goodwill donation at the gate. The donations received will go to a charity. For the uninitiated: a " PowderPuff Football Game" is a school spirit building homecoming tradition; a football game with girls playing the football (and the boys as the cheerleaders) The game is flag football (not tackle). Most schools do a Senior vs. Junior game but we’re combining classes. So the teams will be Senior/Freshmen versus Juniors/Sophomores. This is strictly a Louisville girls thing. No Weeping Water involvement. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. at the LHS Football field. They play 15 minute quarters Cost to get in is $2 and that money will be donated to charity. Come and share in Louisville Homecoming spirit! Friday 9/28 Afternoon The Homecoming Parade starts sometime between 2:50 and 3:00, probably more closer to 3:00. It starts on the south side of the school which is 3rd Street. The parade will go down to Main street and turn left (at Copple's) and precede down to the Fire Hall. After the last float has arrived the Pep Rally will start. The pep rally is held on Main St. in front of the Fire hall. Everything should conclude by 3:30 with students returning to the school for dismissal. Friday 9/28 Evening the Homecoming Football Game Louisville vs Weeping Water 7PM New this year: The Royalty and Court will be announced after the football game on Friday night. From the Editor Let Dan Play the Drums Life was all planned out at 11, I watched the Monkees that Saturday morning in '66 and decided I was gonna be a drummer in a rock band. and that was that! ..got a paper route, saved for months, went to Wards and bought a red sparkly drum set!
-
Sweet -
..then life got complicated..
it turns out that all the guys wanted to play the drums, nobody wanted to
play guitar. -rats-
..ok, so I guess i'll learn guitar.. my neighbor, Dan
Tschida got the drums.. -rats-
That
was the first of a very long chain of events that leads me to today
The adventure this week includes a big game Friday night against Weeping Water's 3-1 Indians team. There isn't a more tradition-filled rivalry in Cass County then Weeping Water vs Louisville and this is gonna be a hum-dinger. Look for a seasons best defensive performance by Jeff Vlasnik, Sean Ronnfeldt and Blake Higginbotham including a couple fumble recoveries, and a last minute nail biting Tyler Johnson field goal to win this homecoming game for the Lions!!
It is gonna be an adventure!
