February 9, 2004 Louisville loves Veterans! In a wonderful tradition created by Lynn Berner-Smith, this time of year we remember our injured and disabled veterans with Valentines Day Cards. Please take time today, and get the kids involved! Visit Blakes Pharmacy and select some cards, write your thoughts and say how much you appreciate the service that has bough the freedom we so enjoy every day. Drop those cards off at the City Office and they will be delivered to the veterans. Please drop off your cards no later than the close of business Thursday, (tomorrow!) Buddy Holly Plays Louisville! (virtually) Dear Art Lover, Just a reminder that the Louisville Art Gallery is closed until Saturday evening, March 12th, when we reopen with the first show of the year titled "Glass Act". This exhibition will feature blown, fused and painted glass, and maybe some other configurations. Ed Fennell from Crystal Forge will be joined by some other Crystal Forge blowers along with Gerry Klein, James Bond and maybe a few others. Although we are closed, the Gallery is hosting a very limited engagement of "Chris Acker and the Rave On Band" featuring Billy McGuigan as Buddy Holly. This is the same band that has performed for sold out audiences and to 'rave' reviews in Omaha and around the USA. This is an electrifying show paying homage to rock and roll's immortal legend, Buddy Holly This show should be a blast in the intimate setting of the Gallery, but seating is very limited, so you are encouraged to call and reserve your admission as soon as possible. Show times and dates: Saturday evening, February 19, 2005, 21 and over Doors open at 5:30, show starts at 7:00. Cash bar Sunday afternoon, February 20, 2005, all ages matinee Doors open at 12:30, show starts at 2:00 Refreshments for sale from the Louisville High School Student Council Tickets: $18.50 plus tax in advance, $22.50 plus tax the day of the show (if any are available) Visa and MC only For tickets, call the Louisville Art Gallery at 234-2867 (Before it's Sold OUT!!!) If no answer, leave a message with name and phone number, and your calls will be returned in the order that they are received. This is going to be a blast, so don't miss it!!!!! Hope to see you, STEVE http://www.louisvilleartgallery.com

Hello from Redwood City We received a nice note from Carol Meisinger Kester: I was looking at the photos of Louisville long ago and imagine my surprise to see a picture of my dear Aunt Grace Haddon Carper at the end of the series. She passed away a few years ago in Fair Oaks, California near Sacramento. My mother, Almeda Haddon Meisinger was her sister. I heard my mother talk about Vivian Blake, in fact she may have worked for Vivian when she was in high school. When my mother married Arthur Meisinger they lived on a farm between Louisville and Cedar Creek, where I went to school. The web page for Louisville is very impressive. I haven't visited there for many years but it looks like a great place. Rgds, Carol Meisinger Kester Redwood City, California If you would like Carol's home email address, please contact us and we will pass it along. Need a great new Hobby? Amateur Radio!
