From the Editor Doodle Bugs "Summer in Louisville" It has been 10 years now since I woke up in Nebraska, and this little City of Louisville has never stopped amazing me. My wife and I have been working for several years trying to achieve the perfect garden, the prefect tomato, cuke and a broad variety of colorful pepper plants. She likes flowers. The peppers are all mine, she is a flower freak. I just don't like the way they taste. Raised beds, Drip irrigation, Oma -Grow, special seeds and fertilizer. Looking good! One thing the Nebraska brochure didn't cover is bugs. This place has some of the most interesting bugs. Lots of them. I like to be marinated in DEET most the time. Anyways, last night, I am in there weeding and caring for my pepper plants, and I notice several perfectly formed funnels in the soil. Hmmm . .....perfect, ....too perfect......symmetrical, with tiny grains of sand forming the walls. Hmmmmm . Is it a coincidence? is it a fluke? is it an alien visitor like those crop circles? Most importantly, is it a threat to my peppers ? Right about then an ant wanders into one of the funnels, slides to the bottom and ZAP!! ...no more ant!
...well now.. hey
! .... what was THAT
all about?
Come to find out this alien visitor, is a Doodle
Bug and apparently everybody but me knows this. Click
HereWell, these are apparently friendly to peppers, people and the environment in general. The guys at UNL like them just fine. (I guess they did not survey the ants) Having Fun and Doodling in the Garden South of the River Computer John Editor LouisvilleNebraska.Com mailto:ComputerJohn@LouisvilleNebraska.Com p.s.
