Louisville Daz!!!
...Over t
he Rainbow...

Friday May 23rd and Saturday May 24th 2003

It is that wonderful time of the year again when cares and worries  take a back seat, and FUN and Pride and Community spirit takes center stage!
This weekend you have a license to just feel good about living in a pretty little American City called Louisville, Nebraska!

Those over-achieving, tireless do-gooders, our Louisville Jaycees have done it again and this year Louisville Daz is going to be a doozy! Not only are Bud and Randy's flapjacks going to be even fluffier, and the sausage even tastier,  you will be those fearless smoke-eating do-gooders the Louisville Volunteer Firefighters in one of their most important fund raisers.

Make sure you give them a pat-on-the-back for all they do!

Still Time to Get Your Float Ready!
Click HERE for the easy parade application

Pay special attention to the Parade Start Time: 11:00am!
Get a good spot on Main Street for viewing and for the Kids to catch some of the candy they will be throwing from the various floats!

Veterans: Step Forward!
from our Parade Chairwoman, and B.U.I.L.D. Member - Lynn Berner-Smith
We have a great list of parade participants this Saturday....among those is a float being presented by the Disabled American Veterans.

This group is from Tri-County Chapter 35 DAV from Nebraska City, we will again have the Hoedowners from Elkhorn who will give us a show of their talents after the Parade, the Shriners are going to join us this year, too.

This will be the first year for the Shriners to participate in our Parade!

Many of the fine businesses in Louisville are participating also. I have it on good authority that one vehicle will be passing out patriotic T-shirts, Tumblers, minature Footballs, AND even patriotic candy (she is very proud of being a U.S.A. citizen :-), another is decorating with the patriotic
theme to honor Memorial Day, we will be honored with the Louisville Bank, Cheerleaders, Dance Team, etc., etc., etc. If I tell you about too much the parade won't be a surprise!! :-)

Again this year, we will go along the Parade route twice....that way anything you missed on the first round you can see the 2nd time around!! Everyone who participates goes to the effort to be there so it's only fair we "make the route" twice.

Hope to see a lot of people on Saturday enjoying the entire day!! The JayCees put a lot of effort into this event every year-let's take part and show our support!!

If anyone has a late entry please call Lynn and we'll get you in the parade....everyone is welcome!!

See you Saturday........Lynn Berner-Smith
P.S. Veterans please step forward and let us pay our respects to you for your efforts for our great country!!

Before you get the balloons on, you better wash that vehicle:
Stop By Dan Henry's Place: Click Here: http://www.louisvillenebraska.com/carwash/index.html
and clean that vehicle up!

You can also tell Dan how much we all appreciate the great job he has been doing downtown the last month or so!!

United Methodist Church Restoration
Restoration continues at First United Methodist Church.

General contractor Jim Williams is doing a superb job, and the building is looking great outside and in. The stained glass windows have been reinstalled, and the new wood trim around them is very attractive, as are the new balcony railings. The painting of the interior will begin soon along with the installation of new carpeting. Installing the new lighting fixtures will follow, as will reinstalling the pews in the main sanctuary area.
Some things will be very similar to the old sanctuary, and some will be quite different.

One thing is sure: it will be beautifully done, and a suitable place to worship the Lord.
We anticipate moving back into the building by the end of the summer, but that will depend on how the work goes. In the meantime, we continue to raise money for the project in order to pay off the loan as soon as possible.

The church will have a fundraiser as part of Louisville Daz this Saturday. Come and win a pie, cake, or tasty baked goods at our booth in front of Berner's Real Estate

What the Cat Saw...
Hi Hardware Cat Fans!

I Think I liked the Winter Better..
There has been so much fuss and shuffle around here lately, it is really throwing my normal lounging around schedule all off.
Time that I could normally spend watching the paint shaker, or good ol' Larry sweeping and chatting is just too hectic these daz.
Seems if it ain't people gradutating all over the place, it's people getting married, and now I hear the carnival is headed to town!

Hey,.. now that I think about it..

They had those yummy deep-fried mouse-fritters on a stick as I recall last year.. Maybe I will just have to go take a look this Friday night.
A couple mouse-fritters and I should be my old furry self again!

Having fun, and Nibblin' the Fritters south of the river....
