Snow Removal: The City of Louisville reminds everyone that sidewalk snow removal is the responsibility of the residential property owner. City code states that snow must be removed within eight hours of snowfall. This is required for safety reasons. Many students walk to school and need access to the sidewalks. Thanks in advance for you cooperation.

'The Hallelujah Girls' Make a Joyful Noise at Mahoney State Park

KBC Productions opens "The Hallelujah Girls" on January 19 at the Kountze Theater inside Mahoney State Park.  The female comedy runs weekends through February 17.
After they losing a close friend, the women of Eden Falls, Georgia realize that time is precious and they've got to work fast to achieve their dreams.  Sugar Lee Thompkins opens a the 'Spa-Dee-Dah' day spa in an abandoned church.  See the women launch new lives in this joyful comedy that will make you shout, "Hallelujah!"
Starring in the ensemble cast are Shari Hoelker, Ann Huxtable-Scates and Allison Tiller of Omaha; Brandy Palatas of Papillion, Melinda Mead and David Willingham of Plattsmouth, Brenda Jones of Louisville and Randy Young of Murdock.  
Production dates are January 19, 20, 25-27, February 1-3, 8, 10, and 14-17.  Showtimes on Fridays and Saturdays are 7:30pm and Sunday afternoon matinees at 2pm.  On Sunday, February 10, there is a second performance at 7:30pm.  Adult tickets are $10 and children under 12 are $8.  For reservations, please call Mahoney State Park at  402.944.2523  ext. 7122.

Louisville Slogan Contest Continues through January 31st, 2013

There is still time to enter the contest!
Winning Entry - $500 prize
Runner up - $300
2nd runner up - $200


 

The deadline for entering slogans is January 31st. A committee of six will narrow down the entries to 5-10 and the slogan committee will choose the three finalists from those selected. The finalists will be announced on the website and B.U.I.L.D.’s Facebook page and the winning entry will be announced at the March B.U.I.L.D. meeting. All entries will be reviewed blindly. The six person committee will be comprised of Terri, Andy and Bob Copple (the original slogan committee) and one member from the school, one member who is a business member and one member from the general public.

Louisville Kindergarten Round-Up

Louisville Public Schools will host its annual Kindergarten Round-Up Parent meeting Thursday, March 21 at 7:00 pm in the elementary computer lab and Kindergarten Round-Up Friday, March 22  in the kindergarten room.  All children who will be five years of age on or before July 31, 2013 are eligible for enrollment in kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year.

Letters about the orientation and get-together will be sent out to all parents of children who are presently recorded on the school census as being old enough to enter kindergarten in the fall.  If anyone in the community is aware of any parents who have children that are of age, are new to the district or who did not receive letter you are encouraged to contact the Louisville Elementary office at 234-4215.  Thank you

At the Lofte Community Theatre

Returning to the Lofte for the third consecutive year, ladies and gentlemen, it's Elvis!  That's right, back by popular demand, Nebraska native, Joseph Hall will amaze you with his life performance as Elvis Presley.  On Saturday, February 23, you can see Elvis at either 2pm or 7pm.  All seats are reserved and tickets are $20.  Be advised, this event is always very popular and sells rather quickly.  Tickets go on sale January 10 so we suggest you make your reservations soon.

Another popular touring show is coming to the Lofte on April 20 and 21.  "Yesterday and Today!" features tribute artist and Nebraska native, Billy McGuigan in an interactive Beatles experience.  In this electrifying show, audiences create the playlist so each performance is fresh and unique.  No costumes, no wigs, just good music requested by YOU!  Experience the thrills of "Twist and Shout," "She Loves You," and much more.  

"Yesterday and Today" has run for sold-out crowds several times in Omaha and we're proud to bring this popular show to Cass County.  Showtime is 7:30pm on Saturday, April 20 and 2pm on Sunday, April 21.  All seats are reserved and cost $30.
