Whether you’re a connoisseur of antiques, literature, or just good food, you’ll find something to suit you April 9th at the Elmwood School.
The Bess Streeter Aldrich Foundation's Spring Banquet is open to the public and will feature a plated meal and program by Tom Bassett, owner of Bassett’s Appraisal Service in Lincoln. Tom conducts appraisals for a number of banks and law firms, is a regular on KFOR’s call-in show “Problems & Solutions”, and teaches “Bargain Hunting for Antiques” at Southeast Community College. In 1983, he conducted what is likely the largest antique appraisal in the history of Nebraska when he appraised Pioneer Village in Minden. Following the presentation the winners of the 2010-2011 Bess Streeter Aldrich Short Story Contest will be honored and will read excerpts from their winning entries.
