2011 Louisville Alumni Tournament

to be held this Friday and Saturday

 

The 2011 Louisville Alumni Tournament will be held this Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9.  More than 60 alumni from the early 90's to 2010 have registered for the event.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the activities with no admission on Friday and a free-will donation on Saturday, along with a concession stand.  Programs will also be available the day of the tournament.
The event is being run by the Girls and Boys High School Basketball teams and the proceeds will go towards the purchase of a "Shoot Away" shooting machine.

Tournament Details:

The teams were created based on graduation year and we attempted to keep the numbers between 8-10. Here is the breakdown.

Purple Jersey  - 1992-1998
Yellow Jersey - 1999-2000
Black Jersey - 2001-2002
Grey Jersey - 2003-2006
Red Jersey - 2007
Orange Jersey - 2008
Blue Jersey - 2009-2010
White Jersey - Faculty

Friday:
-Pool Play Games beginning at 6:00 p.m. and ending around 9:00.  All teams will play 2 games (1 in new gym, 1 in old gym) on Friday night.

Saturday:
-Double-elimination tournament begins at 8:00 a.m. All games will be in the new gym on Saturday.
-There will be a 3-pt contest ($3 entry fee, split the pot)  during a break in the afternoon.
-Championship game will be around 6:15 p.m.

The Bess Streeter Aldrich Foundation's Spring Banquet is open to the public and will feature a plated meal and program by Tom Bassett, owner of Bassett’s Appraisal Service in Lincoln.  Tom conducts appraisals for a number of banks and law firms, is a regular on KFOR’s call-in show “Problems & Solutions”, and teaches “Bargain Hunting for Antiques” at Southeast Community College.  In 1983, he conducted what is likely the largest antique appraisal in the history of Nebraska when he appraised Pioneer Village in Minden.  Following the presentation the winners of the 2010-2011 Bess Streeter Aldrich Short Story Contest will be honored and will read excerpts from their winning entries.


The Elmwood School is located at 400 West F Street, Elmwood, NE.  Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 402-994-3855 prior to April 4.  The price for meal and program is $10.00.
