BUILD Events Committee Update
Plans are on target for "Air Your Art in Louisville."
The BUILD events committee recently visited area art shows to attract
additional artists for the art fair in the park.
There will be live entertainment throughout the day in the city park as well.
The city parade will be held at 2:00 p.m.
The banner project has
been delayed due to time constrictions, but we are looking forward to
the "unveiling" of the banners at next year's event.
The events committee is
looking into transportation ideas between the various locations where
special events are being held; such as Louisville Care Community's
Health Fair, 5th St. Studio's ARTflea Market, the Art Gallery's "Thrown
and Blown" and Feather's Garden Party.
Louisville will be the place to be on May 17th for "Air Your Art in Louisville!!"

Funny Maples
Bark is worse than the Bite
those Diggers Hotline Flags finally got to me. I decided to go out and actually get some trees. We dug big holes, and cultivatd the soil, and did not get electrocuted - just darn sore.
Most folks that know my politics would tell you I am NO tree hugger, I am just your basic red-neck wannabe, but I have to admit taking a shine to our new trees.
We decided on Maples, and around here you need to worry that deer will make chew-toys out of new trees if they are not pretty substantial, so we got 3 big ones. We wrapped those beauties in a covering that would make any chomping deer sorry.
Red Maple - Look Great come Football Season
At the end of this Tree Planting Project my wife and I looked like two pretty beat up computer nerds that had spent half a day doing some real work for a change. We were in serious need of a couple oxygen masks. But it was a good job and we felt pretty pleased.
As we admired our new permanent residents,
I noticed something .... odd ....?
The Maple on the far left bore a slight resemblance to ..
Steve Martin ..
(..Weird!..)
.. but wait a minute.. the last Maple on the right - the smallest - bore a vague resemblance to..
Martin Short ?? - huh?
I am thinking, this is just some bad sap I have been sniffing
this is Crazy!!
Then, ..it happened - the wind changed slightly, the branches moved and there it was.. right before my compost stained eyes..
the tallest of the Maples, right there in the Center..
..Oh.. My......
Chevy Chase
There was no longer any doubt..
..we had planted the...
