BUILD Events Committee Update
Plans are on target for "Air Your Art in Louisville."
The BUILD events committee recently visited area art shows to attract
additional  artists for the art fair in the park.
There will be live entertainment throughout the day in the city park as well.
The city parade will be held at 2:00 p.m.
registration forms are here: Click Here
The banner project has been delayed due to time constrictions, but we are looking forward to the "unveiling" of the banners at next year's event.
The events committee is looking into transportation ideas between the various locations where special events are being held; such as Louisville Care Community's Health Fair, 5th St. Studio's ARTflea Market, the Art Gallery's "Thrown and Blown" and Feather's Garden Party.
Louisville will be the place to be on May 17th for "Air Your Art in Louisville!!"

The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley will hold auditions
for its 32nd season opener, "Charley's Aunt," by Brandon Thomas.
This world famous farce has moved millions to tears of laughter.
Jack Chesney loves Kitty Verdun and Charles loves Miss Spettigue. They
invite the ladies to meet Charley's wealthy aunt from Brazil. But alas, the millionaire aunt sends word that she will have to defer her
visit for a few days.  What is to be done?  The problem is solved by
forcing another Oxford undergraduate into a black satin skirt, an old
fashioned cap and wig. As Charley's Aunt, this old frump is introduced
to the sweethearts. Then the real aunt turns up!

Auditions will be held at the Lofte on Monday, April 14 and Tuesday,
April 15th at 7pm, and will consist of cold readings from the script.
Performance dates of the play will run weekends from May 30-June 15.

For questions or driving directions, please call the Lofte at
402-234-2553 or visit the website

Digits in the Air...
Foam Finger Salute!

I read the news about our Lion's Triumphant Sweep of both the Boys and Girls divisions of the Malcom Invitational  Track and Field event last week.

While I was reading about that, the mail arrived and here were the a coupons I requested from the Federal Government  to convert my old TV's.

I set out to see if my tired old televisions were really going to be able to receive Digital Television Broadcasts, right here in Louisville!

I wandered down to a WalMart and bought 2 of these ( Click Here ) gizmos for $49 each, and used my Coupons from the Fed that were worth $40 each so I spent $9 twice (plus tax) and back to Louisville I went.

If you have not requested your Coupons Click Here

I am very impressed with these gizmo's and I am impressed with the Government pulling off what must been a major complex project, both the gizmo's and the Federal Program work well and as advertised.

Bottom Line: Happiness = Altitude

Your Happiness here in Louisville sipping free digital TV from the air is going to relate to your Altitude as in how high up you are. (like on a hill top) Ask your parents: Isn't that they way it was when they first introduced TV? (Deja Vu)

In order to get your fair share of Free Digits in the Air you need to be up a bit, as in on a hill or have a good antenna. I just mention it, because that fact is not really talked about in all the ads.

As a new member of the mandatory new digital age, you will quickly notice that poor reception no longer equals a fuzzy picture, it equals no picture at all. When you have got it it is great, when you don't you have nothing.

Here is a great and highly useful website to investigate, the whole antenna thing, and the locations of the transmitters and a ton of stuff you don't really want to know about, but it is very useful. They make your register to use it, but it is free and it is worth it Click Here
