Shooting Sports Squad Takes 9th at Nationals Doane Shooting Sports The Doane (Neb.) Shooting Sports Shotgun Team placed ninth this year at the ACUI National Championships in San Antonio, Texas. The Tigers, competing in Division III, finished with a team score of 2,218. Mason Buzzard (JR/Trenton, Ill.) led the Tigers with an overall score of 531, tying for 73rd in the men's division. JJ Iltz (SO/Valleyford, Wash.) tied for 137th with a score of 514. Jared Crouse (JR/Haigler, Neb.) tied for 174th with a score of 507. Jack Olson posted a score of 467 and tied for 331st. Katie Petersen (JR/Omaha, Neb.) tied for 29th in the women's division with a score of 492. Also competing for the Tigers were Trevin Alberts (FR/Lincoln, Neb.), Lillie Bowman (FR/Firth, Neb.), Bailey Gasseling (SO/Lincoln, Neb.), Elizabeth Krejci (SO/Louisville, Neb.), and Morgan Psyk(JR/Albertville, Minn.). The Tiger women had five Top 20 finishes in the championships. Petersen tied for 11th in American Trap, tied for 12th in International Skeet, and tied for 13th in American Skeet. Pysk tied for 15th in International Trap and tied for 18th in American Trap. In the six scored events, Doane posted five Top 10 finishes. The Tigers took 3rd in American Trap with a 478 team score. They tied for 6th in International Skeet with a 251. The Tigers were tied for 7th in International Trap with a 259. In Sporting Clays, Doane took 8th with a 386 score. The American Skeet discipline saw the Tigers post a 468 to take 9th. Doane finished 17th in Super Sporting with a 405. The following is a scoring breakdown for each Tiger participant. Scores are in order of American Skeet – American Trap – International Skeet – International Trap – Super Sporting – Sporting Clay = total score. Mason Buzzard (92-97-87-85-87-83=531) |
