Strongest Yards Fundraiser
This signup is for a fundraiser for Braydon Yardley, son of Brady & Renee Yardley, brother of Emma Yardley. This is an attempt to raise money for Chemotherapy Braydon desperately needs and that his insurance has currently denied. Brady has missed countless hours of work being there for Braydon through procedures, surgery and bad days. Renee herself battles MS. This is a family that could use a rally moment! Please consider donating. We are debating a raffle, we would be in need of several big ticket items to be raffled off if anyone has connections. Otherwise, we are planning a pork dinner followed by Shawn Cole & some of the Drunk Monkeys providing their awesome tunes, dinner served from 5-6:30 and band playing 6:30-9. All items can be dropped off at 8653 S 160th St, please arrange a drop off time by calling or texting 402-616-2826 or 402-610-2018. Pickup may also be arranged. Desserts, buns, cutlery, paper products, chips & salads can be brought to the fairgrounds immediately before event. Pop, water, ice and roasters please drop off at fairgrounds before 1 the day of the event. This event will be air conditioned and held in the Expo Building. Thank you all! Please share this post as public and feel free to invite any friends and family.

State Senator Rob Clements 6-21-2019
I would like to discuss three bills I worked on this session. They are LB209, a pro-life bill, LB 452 a development district bill, and LB 454, a real estate licensing bill.
LB 209 provides information to pregnant women considering the two-step abortion drug protocol. The notice lets women know if they change their mind after taking the first pill, they may stop and receive medical treatment to continue a viable pregnancy. In layman’s terms, it is called the abortion drug reversal procedure. The treatment needs to start within about 48 hours, so early information is critical.
Senator Joni Albrecht introduced LB 209 and I was a co-sponsor. It was filibustered, needing 33 votes to pass, and it did pass May 30th with a 36-12 vote. I am pleased that Nebraska now gives women information to change their mind and have a chance to deliver a healthy baby. Hundreds of women nationwide who started the abortion pill process have delivered healthy babies using this safe procedure.
LB 452 was a bill I introduced on behalf of Cass county and city officials. It moves Cass County from Region 6, Southeast Planning and Development District (SENDD), to Region 8, the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA). This will allow Cass county to be more involved with the growth that is moving south from the Omaha metro area. In addition, MAPA expressed willingness to help area communities plan and grow. I was able to amend LB 452 into priority bill LB334 to get it passed. Thank you to those of you who came to Lincoln to testify and help pass this bill with a 47-0 vote.
LB 454, is a job friendly bill that amends the Realtor licensing requirements. My office heard from a Cass County homeschool graduate who was denied a Realtor’s license, even though she had passed the required real estate classes and license tests. State law required an applicant to be a traditional high school graduate or a holder of a GED. A home school graduate or other non-traditional applicant was not included under the law.
My office was able to work with the Real Estate Commission and the Banking, Commerce, and Insurance Committee to resolve this unnecessary restriction. LB 454 passed with a 47-0 vote.
Feel free to contact me or my staff for information, questions on issues, or assistance. You may reach me at: Senator Rob Clements, State Capitol Rm 812, Lincoln, NE 68509, Phone 4024712613, or email: rclements@leg.ne.gov.

Pirate Summer at the Lofte!
Manley, Neb., July 1, 2019 -- The Lofte Community Theatre, located in Manley, NE, is having several Events this month!
Beginning July 7th, the Lofte will hold “Script Club”. Admission is free! Script Club is a staged reading and is a fun and different way to experience theatre. Please join us Sunday, July 7th at 2PM. This month will be a comedy, and Lofte Rewards are given for those who participate. Details at the door.
Kicking off “Pirate Summer”, we will be hosting The Jolly Rogers, The Original Singing Pirates of the Midwest from Kansas City on Saturday, July 13th at 7PM. The Jolly Rogers invite you to join in on the fun as they record their Lofte show for their 30th anniversary CD/DVD release! The Jolly Rogers are a ribald crew of singing-comedy pirates that have proudly been the source of first-rate maritime music for almost 30 years. Locals may remember The JR’s from their run at The Renaissance Faire of the Midlands at Iowa Western Community College (1991-2003). Break out your peg-legs and pirate outfits for a costume contest judged by The JR’s themselves! The Jolly Rogers rate their show a very light PG-13 due to suggestive dialog and heavy-handed and thinly-veiled innuendo. The JR’s are clever and naughty (like Benny Hill), not crass and dirty!
The members of The Jolly Rogers are (left to right) Kurt Hanover as Bloodbard, Cliff Lawson as Devin Blackheart, Chris Berger as Kane, Mark Stahl as Mayhem, and Sean Foree as Bottomless Pete.
The Lofte will also have a Food and Beer Tent, called The Cutthroat Inn, every Saturday from July 13th to August 3rd. (July 13, 20, 27 and August 3rd) beginning at 4:30PM. The Menu includes Brisket, Smoked Turkey Legs, BBQ Pulled Pork, Grilled Corn-on-the-Cob, plus special Pirate Rum Drinks and Craft Beer.
On July 20th, more Pirates will arrive and we will begin production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s, Pirates of Penzance. The Book and Lyrics by Sir William Schwenck Gilbert, and Music by Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan.
Set sail with this hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers and an eccentric Major-General. Our hopeful story follows young Frederic, an orphan who has mistakenly been apprenticed to a raucous band of pirates. He disavows the pirates' way of life and tries to win over the heart of Major-General Stanley's songbird daughter, Mabel. Complications arise that may prevent the budding romance and lead to the death of 'The very model of a modern Major-General.'
The Lofte cast of 30 actors includes Wade Mumford as The Pirate King, Piper Monson, who just returned from the Jimmy Awards on Broadway will play Mabel, Wendy Allen as Ruth, and Erik Quam as the Major General. Many new Born-in-a-Barn Players are joining the Lofte for the first time: John Celesky, Sam Bass, Jacob Goetz, Dillon Holsteen, Dillon Kirby, Matthew Kischer, Emanuel Meloy, John Kinney, Kameron Monahan, CeCe Hastreiter, Tammy Kruger, Gillian Pearson, Bobbie Ritzman, Kristan Robbins, and Leandra Rodriguez.
Tickets for this event can purchased by calling the Lofte Community Theatre box office at 402-234-2553, or by visiting the theatre’s website at www.Lofte.org and clicking on “Tickets”.
About The Lofte Community Theatre: The Lofte Community Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit community theatre, located in Manley Nebraska, approximately 25 miles south of Omaha. The theatre, a new post-and-beam style performing arts facility can seat approximately 330 patrons for each performance. Actors and audience members enjoy a beautiful climate-controlled venue year around. The Lofte offers a full concession stand, and also sells beer and wine. The theatre offers six core season productions each year as well as many special events featuring visiting artists including week-long children’s theater workshop, a free Veterans Day concert, and host high-school one-act play competitions in the fall. Approximately 12,000 visitors come through the doors annually.
